My stepdad is a retired mailman. I remember the months of November and December we would hardly see him because he was working up to 14 hour days. Even on Christmas Eve he would be out until 8 or 9 pm – and even a couple of years on Christmas Day he would be out delivering the last few that he could. Around Christmas time he always came home with gifts from the people on his route and I think it really made him feel appreciated.
I know that those UPS, USPS, FedEx, Amazon, and other delivery drivers have a thankless job. We rely on what we order to come on time and they make sure to “deliver” – HA see what I did there?
We order a lot of things online. From groceries to gifts and household items. I wanted to do something special for our drivers this year and saw someone had posted this idea of putting out drinks and snacks for the drivers with a little note that says “thank you.” It’s a simple gesture that might make someone’s day.
Our basket includes some jerky, cookies, M&M’s, sparkling flavored water, and bottled water. If you can get the kids involved it’s a great way to show those that work hard in our community how much they’re appreciated.
If you are wanting to do the same thing, I created a free printable for you to put next to your snacks! Just right click on the image below and save it to your computer!
I hope that this blesses you and all of those hard-working delivery drivers, too!
