- Handcrafted in Bethlehem
- Provides fair wages for those rising out of poverty
Suggested Uses
- After you’re done slicing and dicing your meat or veggies, take the cutting board to the sink and wash it down with hot water and soap. Dry it immediately and stand it up so that air can circulate on all sides. Alternatively, you can use lemon, salt, vinegar, baking soda, and water to clean the cutting board. Hard stains: To remove stubborn stains, just sprinkle baking soda on the surface of the cutting board, then work it into the surface stains with a lemon or a gentle sponge or washcloth. Rinse the board and dry it with a towel. Revitalize: If your cutting board gets a lot of use and washing, it can start to look dull and dried out. Replenish the wood using mineral oil—just apply a small amount with a very slightly damp rag. Caution: Don’t ever soak a wooden cutting board in water or put it in the dishwasher! It can cause it to warp, split, and/or crack.

FAQs
Q: What is the cutting board made of?
A: It is made of ethically and sustainably sourced olive wood from the branches of trees that are up to 2,000 years old. The Holy Land Handicrafts artisan group is certified as an organization that protects the olive-wood trees and sustainably makes products from only the pruned branches of ancient olive trees, so that the tree itself is not cut down.
Q: What is the size?
A: The cutting boards are 11.6 inches (29.5 cm) wide by 4.4 inches (11.1 cm) deep and 0.7 inches (1.65 cm) thick. They each weigh 1.2 pounds (560 g)
Q: Is it dishwasher- and microwave-safe?
A: No. Handwash only and keep away from extreme heat sources (560 g)
Q: How does my purchase benefit others?
A: Your purchase benefits others in two ways: first, it directly benefits the artisans who made this product by providing fair pay and stable employment to women in economically challenging conditions. Second, a percentage of the proceeds goes back to the Young Living Foundation to support projects and programs around the world, all focused on protecting and empowering the world’s young.(560 g)
Q: Does Young Living offer other artisan-supporting products?

The Young Living Foundation works with women-led artisan groups across the globe, including artisans who have experienced extreme poverty, disability, displacement, trauma, exploitation, or violence. The Foundation is committed to helping these resilient women build strong and sustainable enterprises that will lead to more income-generating opportunities. With fair and consistent pay, our partner artisans are better able to support their own needs, as well as the needs of their children and families.
Q: Is the cutting board one solid piece of wood?
A: We work with olive wood crafters in the West Bank who only use wood from tree branches that have been pruned or have died, and thus, no trees were cut down to create these cutting boards. Thus, some of the olive wood used in may be from trees centuries old. Due to this no-harm method of harvesting, each board is made up of two pieces of olive wood carefully joined together to form a household accessory that will last through years of use.
